From Harlequin Desire: A luxurious world of bold encounters and sizzling chemistry.

Harlequin Book Review:

I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers story between a rich, playboy who needs to fix his image and save his inheritance – and an average woman who wants nothing more than give back to charity. Two complete opposites who have been forced into a situation where they have to learn to compromise and work together.

This book had so much to love. And I absolutely love the growing connection between Declan and Charlotte as the story progressed. Declan is absolutely someone who gets what he wants, and what he wanted was Charlotte.

ARC Book Review:

This is book 7 in this series. This is the first and only book in this series that I’ve read. It’s based on an important topic—human trafficking. While the story is predictable, the author has done a credible job of character development and back story Christina and Devlin have been dancing around each other for a while and with Christina’s past she has a hard time trusting, even Devlin. Devlin use to be a sniper and he know his patience will pay off. He wants Christina to be his. When they see Felicity stealing food off of plates that people have left the two are determined to help her any why they can. And this journey of discovery bring two people meant together even closer to there much deserving happy ending.

Book Review: Mr October

Halloween has come early in this steamy, friends-to-lovers, teacher/teacher romance filled with secret pining, fun hijinks, and quirky small-town feels.

Sabrina is no stranger to the Halloween pranks played around Grimsby, Indiana in the month of October. In fact, she is the recipient of nearly all of them. Usually, she would laugh it off and spend the rest of the month looking over her shoulder anxiously awaiting the next scare. But not this year. She’s ready to fight prank with prank…starting with her best friend and Grimsby High’s favorite history teacher: Mr. October.

*Mr. October is a 15k word novella

Book Review

This book was a sweet spicy fantastic quick read. I really enjoyed the characters and only wish it was a little longer because | just wanted more Sabrina and Adam.
I loved the pranks, I did laugh out loud at one of them in particular. Overall, a very sweet and light hearted novella that I really enjoyed.

Book Review: The Italian Daughter

Italy, 1946. “Estee, I bought this ring years ago and have kept it safe ever since. You’re the only woman I’ve ever loved.” She reached for Felix’s hand and gently closed it over the box. “No,” she whispered. “I want you to propose only when you’re truly free.”

London, present day: Lily clutches a faded piece of paper in her hands, knowing that her life will never be the same again. Whilst grieving for her late father, she is told that her grandmother was born at Hope’s House, a home for unmarried mothers, the only clues to her past contained on a handwritten Italian recipe and an old theatre programme.

Desperate for answers, Lily accepts a job on an Italian vineyard in the heart of picturesque Como – a dream her father once shared. Arriving at the palatial home of the Martinelli family, Lily is captivated by the acres of vines that surround her and instantly feels at home. She is also struck by their charming son Antonio and as they chat long into the night over a candlelit dinner, he offers to help Lily discover her family’s heritage.

As Lily unravels the truth of her own legacy, she begins to fall more in love with Italy and with Antonio. And tracing the recipe back to a bakery in a hilltop village, she soon unearths a tragic love story that changes everything…

But when Lily discovers who her grandmother really was, can she too have the courage to follow her heart and leave her old life behind? Or will her family’s heart-wrenching story force her home?

An utterly enchanting and heartbreaking novel about lost loves, family secrets and enduring hope. Perfect for fans of Santa Montefiore, Lucinda Riley and Victoria Hislop.

Book Review :

I’ve long been a fan of Soraya Lane’s WWII historical fiction novels, but I was very excited and intrigued when she announced a new series called The Lost Daughters. I finished this book in one day—I was so invested in the characters and their stories that I couldn’t stop reading. This heartfelt book features a dual timeline, with the stories of two couples dominating each storyline. I was moved to tears by all of their stories; by their love, their heartache, their secrets, their passions, their hopes. Estee and Felix, Lily and Antonio—they all touched my heart in every way imaginable.

October is Italian American month ! So I am highlighting books from Italy with love.

Book Review: Pride and Piña Coladas

From best-selling author Melanie Summers comes a retelling of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice that’ll have you laughing, swooning, and sipping fruity blender drinks…

I’m Nora Cooper—single woman about to turn thirty, wildly unsuccessful plant fanatic, and event planner at Paradise Bay Resort. My shot at ‘the big time’ has finally arrived—the resort is hosting the World Bartender Championships and I’ve been asked to head up the hospitality team.

There’s only one big problem. And his name is Theo Rojas. You’ve heard of his family—they own Rojas Rum (and about 200 other premium liquors, some of which may be on your shelf right now). As the major sponsor of the event, Theo has decided to be onsite, micromanaging every second of the competition.

He’s stuck up, rude, and arrogant (and a bunch of other adjectives I had better not use). He also seems to have added ‘make Nora’s life absolute hell’ to the top of his to-do list.

Too bad for Mr. Grumpy Chinos because he doesn’t know who he’s dealing with. I’ve taken on far worse foes than him. And if he thinks he’s going to get the best of me, he’s in for a wake-up call.

So when we find ourselves stranded on a private island overnight, I’m determined to put him in his place once and for all.
Only somehow, instead of continuing our constant sparring, I find myself gazing longingly into his gorgeous eyes.
And now I have totally forgotten all the nasty things I was planning to say to him. Something about him being arrogant, right?

Gah! Someone please send help because I absolutely CANNOT fall for this guy…

Ku Book Review:

This is a sweet and clean romantic comedy with plenty of angst and a beautiful setting. Who wouldn’t want to live on a beautiful island? Pick up this lovely book. I certainly can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

A Pumpkin and a Patch

Every person has that one thing they’re known for, and it doesn’t matter what you do, that one thing—whether good or bad—follows you around like a bloodhound for the rest of your life. For me it’s a story I wrote when I was fifteen. Forever more I will be known as the Reece the Rogue Pirate girl, instead of Josie Peterson. Why couldn’t I be known for all the cute children’s stories I’ve written about my family’s pumpkin patch?

Tragically, the torrid story I wrote as a teen was based on a real person, Reece Cavanaugh. And guess what? He grew up to be a pirate—okay, lawyer. Same thing. To make matters worse, the man is representing my ex-fiancé who wants to steal my treasure, aka engagement ring. If that wasn’t the icing on the cake, Reece has an adorable daughter who happens to be my new student. That’s right, I must now have actual conversations with him after avoiding him for half my life, even by hiding behind banana displays when needed. But the more I get to know Reece—the real version, not the imaginary one who ravishes me on sandy beaches—I can’t help but wish we could roll around in the sand together. There’s a problem though, the school I work for frowns upon relationships between parents and teachers. And it’s pumpkin season, which means all my free time is spent on the family farm. But when he kisses me, I can’t help wanting to break all the rules and get tangled up in the barn. The burning question is, am I brave enough to make my story a reality or will it be another bad ending?

From USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Peel comes a curl your toes and cuddle up with your favorite blanket and cocoa romantic comedy.

KU book pick :

Jennifer Peel writes a brilliant story that is filled with laughter and love. Josie has had a crazy crush on Reece since High School but after a story she wrote about him when she was 15 was shared in high school she’s had to live with the notoriety of being the pirate girl. Years later Josie comes face-to-face with Reece when he represents her ex, and then again when his daughter Andi becomes a student in her class. Gradually they become friends…
Jennifer writes such a heartfelt tale of embarrassment, first crushes, unrequited love, and how all that translates into adulthood. A worthy read this Holiday season.

He took me under a waterfall and made me forget my name…

Does it Hurt?, an all-new standalone romance full of twists and turns from international bestselling author H.D. Carlton, is live now!

Who am I?

I’ve forgotten the answer to that question long ago. Ever since I ran from that house, so desperate to escape, I left with only the clothes on my back and socks on my feet. After that day, I’ve only ever walked in stolen shoes.

Could I be a girl who is searching for the meaning of life in faceless men? They were all so forgettable. Until he came along. He took me under a waterfall and made me forget my name, and in return, I took his instead.

Enzo Vitale.

An enigmatic man that will only ever love the deep sea. Or rather the predators that inhabit it. Turns out, he’s not so different than the monsters he feeds. He lured me onto his boat like a fish in the ocean, seeking vengeance for my crime. Had I realized his intentions, and that a massive storm would leave us shipwrecked, I would’ve ran.

Now, I’m a girl who’s seeking refuge in a decrepit lighthouse with a man who loathes me almost as much as he craves me. He wants to hurt me, but the old caretaker of the abandoned island may have intentions far more sinister.

It’s no longer a question of who I am, but rather, will I survive?

Hudson

I didn’t plan on kissing my best friend’s twin sister… or falling for her. But it happened all the same. It’s always been Riley, but after I finally get the chance to taste her lips, she ghosts me.

Not exactly the response I was hoping for. Getting out of town for a while, and giving her space, seemed like the best thing for us both. Until the night before my year overseas, and she ended up in my bed.

I thought leaving her was the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced, but returning home to find her with a newborn and knowing she’s moved on is a sucker punch to the gut. She can push me away all she wants, but the sexy single mom better get used to me being around, because I’m home to stay.

Now he’s halfway around the world, and I’m pregnant. Having this baby alone doesn’t scare me half as much as my feelings for Hudson.

Book Review: Willful Widow

First, she’ll steal his belongings, then she’ll steal his heart.

The death of Euphemia “Effie” Green’s husband has left her impoverished and desperate. Disguising herself as a highwayman to make ends meet is risky, but with a young son and ailing aunt to provide for, she is willing to risk both her life and her freedom. That is, until she finds notorious rake Griffin St. John on the other end of her pistol.

Griffin has grown bored of a life of indulgence and idleness. He knows something is missing from his free-wheeling, bachelor’s existence but has no idea how to find it. Fate crosses his path with that of a widowed seamstress who masquerades as a highwayman in the dark of night. The mystery of Effie Green is too compelling to be ignored, leading Griffin to learn more about the woman who fleeced him of his valuables.

Offering to make her his mistress is outrageously inappropriate, but it’s the only way he can think of to keep her out of danger. Effie accepts Griffin’s scandalous offer, hoping to make a better life for her son while protecting the shameful secret of her crimes.

However, an arrangement of convenience and desire becomes complicated as Effie struggles to reconcile her past self with the woman she has become. Griffin finds himself realizing that a temporary arrangement will never be enough when both Effie and her son have stolen his heart.

Can these unlikely lovers make a happily-ever-after from the twist of fate that brought them together?

Book Review:

What a wonderful story of the clash of two life styles, the desperation of a widow with a young son facing poverty and the boredom of a wealthy second son of the ton whose life has become too predictable. Effie and Griffin both hold secrets and relegated themselves to be what others see. Though drawn to each other, each must find their true selves before seeing what is right in front of them. Another great addition to this series.
